"Cabin"

These Revolutionary War cabins are replicas from the Washington Encampment at Valley Forge. The shot was taken from the inside of one cabin, facing another.

"Icicle"

An all too familiar sight, recently.  Ground & trees are still covered in snow, and Philadelphia is expecting another big storm this week.

"Daisy Dukes"

My best friend's dog, Daisy. I love how she always sticks out her little tongue.

"Frosty Flag"
One of my favorite things about snow is how it freezes to the trees :)

 "Snowball"

The east coast was hit again with a snow storm.  My street is notoriously dangerous in the snow, so I thought it would be best to work from home.  On my break, I happened to look outside and my boyfriend was rolling this gigantic snowball.  I guess you're never too old to build a snowman.

"Birthday Wishes"

"Our friendship, a tapestry of life's golden threads. As we continue to weave out lived, love and laughter, never forget - you are loved"
One of my mom's best friends, Mary Lou, does beautiful calligraphy.  This was a birthday wish that she created and framed.

"A book and a cup-a-tea"

That's all mama needs to make her happy! Growing up, and seeing a stack of books sitting next to a cup of tea was not unusual.  I've never met anyone who loves to read as much as she does.  Pictured here is some of her collection of Nancy Drew mystery books from her early adolescence.

"Chadds Ford Barn"

Found this on a photohunt today in Chadds Ford.  This area we drove through was covered in houses or barns that looked very similar to this.  One was a BRIGHT red barn with a wooden ladder leaning against it, and if it weren't in someones backyard, I would have tried to get a shot.  This will have to do :)

"Violet Hill"

I took my love down to violet hill
There we sat in snow
All that time [he] was silent still
So if you love me, won't you let me know?

"Hot stuff!"
Some of the hot sauce selections on the "Wall of Flame" at California Tortilla, or Cali Tort as my family likes to call it it.  Pat got the Endorphin Rush which is rated a 10 on a scale of 1-10.  His eyes watered and his face turned bright red, but he still walked out of there carrying his tex-mex bag, deeming the hot sauce his trophy.

 "An apple a day"

As well as blogging a picture every day with my friend and co-worker, we are also both doing weight watchers!  Apples = 0 points :)

"Candy Colors"

This was a last minute picture.  I started drawing this during a class a few years ago, and I just found it in one of my old folders.  I love the colors :) I should probably finish this sometime soon!

"XoXo"
A photo booth picture that Pat and I took in Wildwood, and some dried roses from when we started dating over 4 years ago.  I thought that putting them in the snow would make them both stand out more.  I'm trying not to give in to the Valentines day hoopla this year, but I'm sure I'll fail miserably.

"Secret Door"

I drove past this during a photo hunt today, and was immediately drawn to it.  I'm not sure if it's because it is bright red or if my curiosity got the best of me; either way, I had to pull over and take a picture.

"Poinsettia"

My mom collects vintage 1950's Christmas figurines, and this one has always been my favorite.  I wanted to get a picture of her before she was tucked away for the winter.  The name Poinsettia would fit her perfectly.

I discovered this park in my neighboring town today, and a game of hockey that had broken out on the frozen pond.

"Snow Kitten"

Reason #376 why I love this cat: She LOVES the snow.  The only problem is, once you get her out there, it's almost impossible to get her to come back inside.

"A HOTDOG is singing. You need quiet while a hotdog is singing?" - You've Got Mail

I've never been inside this theater, but I always imagined the inside to look like the following scene in You've Got Mail.

Kathleen: I have something to tell you, Frank. I didn't vote.
Frank: What?
Kathleen: In the last mayoral election when Rudy Giuliani was running against Ruth Messenger I went to get a manicure and forgot to vote.
Frank: Since when do you get manicures?
Kathleen: Oh I suppose you could never be with a woman who got manicures
Frank: Never mind. It's ok, I forgive you.
Kathleen: You, forgive, ME?

"Pipin' Hot"

Pat and I took a trip to Jimmy John's today, after visiting the Brandywine River Museum.

Jimmy John's has been in operation in Chester County since 1940, and even survived a fire on their 70th anniversary.  Growing up, we would come here to enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, milkshakes and birch beer.  My brothers and I would come with pockets full of quarters to play with the electric trains that would distract us from eating.
